Hi there, I'm Tuulikki!

Your Finnish copywriter and translator from English and German into Finnish.

And not just that, but your Finnish market and language expert, cultural advisor, Finnish SEO specialist and extension of your in-house team.

Finnish website translation done easy

Expanding into new markets means translating your website and other marketing communications. To market your products or services in Finland, you need a Finnish website. That helps your customers better communicate with you and trust you.

A simple translation or a machine translation won’t do the trick. If your website isn’t localised and adapted for the Finnish market, people won’t trust you. A bad translation affects your customers’ buying experience and harms your brand image.

What you need is a Finnish translator, copywriter and SEO strategist to help you.

When you collaborate with me, I take the time to understand you, your business, and your goals. I delve into your terminology, brand identity and tone of voice.

The result? A culturally adapted website that truly speaks to your Finnish customers. It flows effortlessly and creates trust among your Finnish audience. All while staying true to your brand and voice.

When you work with me as your Finnish website translator & copywriter, you’ll get…

Copy that works

Not just translation but copy that feels like originally written in Finnish. Engaging copy that creates trust.

The magic formula: Translation + Copywriting + SEO

Many of my customers have started working with me after trying other translation service providers and being disappointed.

My service is different. I don’t just translate, I write Finnish copy for your needs.

I offer you 3 services in one: translation, copywriting and SEO.

Finnish websites with native touch

Not everything can be translated – there are always cultural nuances, market-specific differences and language discrepancies that make mere translations ineffective.

To truly resonate with your Finnish customers, you need captivating Finnish copywriting – and that’s where I come in.

I’ll take all those cultural nuances into account and craft bespoke Finnish website copy that perfectly aligns with your marketing goals.

...and loved by Google

Don’t underestimate the impact of SEO on your translated Finnish website. Optimising your local site doesn’t guarantee success in Finland

Finnish customers aren’t using the same keywords. To make sure your new website is found by search engines, you need SEO translation, including keyword research and optimised content – that’s what I can help you with.

A flawless customer experience is vital for your new Finnish website. Broken links, layout issues and navigation problems affect negatively the user experience, search engine rankings and organic traffic.

With my help, this won’t be the case! I can help you spot and eliminate these potential issues by checking your site after translation and ensuring your website functions flawlessly.

My proven workflow for successful Finnish website translation

These are the steps of a complete Finnish website translation workflow. The actual steps are tailored precisely to your goals, needs and budget.

1. Discovery Call

Reach out via email or book a free discovery call to discuss which services suit you best.

2. Brief and Style Guide

3. Keyword Research and Mapping

I'll perform keyword research to find out which terms are used by Finnish customers and assign strategic keywords to different pages.

4. Translation or Transcreation

I'll translate your German or English web copy and craft a Finnish version tailored to your unique needs.

5. Copy Editing

I'll polish your new website copy, ensuring it sounds natural to a native ear, aligns with your brand and captures your tone of voice.

6. SEO Optimisation

I'll optimise your Finnish web copy, meta descriptions, meta titles, ALT tags, image file names, and URLs for search engine success.

7. Proofreading by Second Native Speaker

While I personally proofread every copy, two pair of eyes is better. Therefore, I always recommend opting for proofreading by a second native speaker.

8. Final Check in Layout

I’ll make sure your Finnish copy is ready and free from layout issues like missing paragraphs, lengthy headers, or broken links.

No guessing about the price

When it comes to any service, pricing is a crucial factor. You want to know precisely what the service will cost before you start the collaboration.

I completely understand!

That’s why I’m committed to providing you with a clear project price upfront or an estimate if we work on an hourly basis. With this approach, you’ll always have a firm grasp of the project’s total cost.

While others ask you about the word count, I'll ask you about your goals.

The difference between me and other service providers is that my price is not tied to the word count but to the services you need

We’ll discuss your goals and tailor the services accordingly. I offer three different service packages which can be tailored to your specific needs.

Tailored services, tailored prices

To begin with, explore my pricing packages, which can be customised to suit your unique requirements. The Basic Translation package is very basic and suited only on very straightforward texts.

Once we’ve had our initial discussion, I’ll send you a detailed proposal containing the project price. To give you an idea, my hourly rates begin at 60 € per hour for regular long-term projects. For one-time projects my hourly price is 75 € per hour.

The final check on your live website is always priced on an hourly basis.

FAQ - Finnish website translation

Here you’ll find answers to the most frequent questions. If you still have questions, just send me a message tuulikki@opale.fi, I’m happy to help!

This depends on several factors, like the size of the page, file format and selected services: Is it just translation or does it also include transcreation or copy creation? Will there be keyword research and SEO optimisation? What about proofreading by a second native Finnish speaker and a final check on the live website (both highly recommended services)?

To give you an idea, small to medium-sized websites with about 20.000 words can take 2 to 4 weeks to complete.

This depends on the size of the website, file format, amount of localisation needed and selected services: Will there be translation, transcreation or copy creation? Is keyword research and SEO-optimisation selected? Will the page be proofread by a second linguist? Is there a final check on the live website?

I prefer quoting a project price for new projects based on the selected services, the source files you have delivered and their complexity and the word count. This way you will have a firm grasp of the project’s total cost before starting the project.

To give you an idea, my hourly rates begin at 60 € per hour for regular long-term projects. For one-time projects, my hourly price is 75 € per hour.

There are several ways to translate a website. It can be done directly in the content management system (CMS) or outside of it.

Most translators prefer working with content that is exported from the CMS. This allows us to analyse the content, use translation memory tools and work much more efficiently. Translating inside CMS is much more time-consuming and therefore it costs you more.

The exported content can be in a variety of file formats. Popular options include Word and Excel files but as I work with Trados Studio as my translation tool, it supports many different file formats.

Important is that I can see where the content is used (for which pages and for which purpose).  Translating separate word lists without any context is very difficult and time-consuming.

If you already use a localisation tool for your website content like Smatcat, Crowdin or GlobalLink, I’m happy to work on it.

I will ask you to provide a brief and a style guide if you have one. If not, I’ll ask you to fill in a questionnaire to get all the relevant information. If you already have worked with a copywriter for your local site, the information you sent them could be relevant also for me.

If you have any references or previously translated materials send them too. I also need to see the images and the layout of the page. These have a huge impact on the translation.
